As someone needing to find a new position (internally hopefully) I've noticed that there are very little job postings going up. From what I've heard and experienced it's very hard to get a call let alone an interview. Any insight on this is much appreciated.

Get out. Leadership hire their friends, nepotism is rampant. There is no point in applying for internal or external roles because if they are new - post reorg start - then the HM already has someone in mind for the role. Done and done.
Internal postings seems only for AVP roles and who was worked as SVP and VP may not show interest to apply AVP roles. They are doing in such a way so that AVP roles increase and VP and SVP roles decreases.
If you see the job also being posted EXTERNALLY, then that typically means that they do not already have someone lined up.
There is not going to be much hiring between now and the end of March. Posted requisitions are getting hundreds of applications. You will be contacted if the manager wants to interview you.
this was just posted about a couple days ago.
The whole thing is one big scam. In almost every instance, they already have someone in mind for the role, and they are just posting it as a formality. That should not stop you from reaching out, but just keep in mind that you probably have about a 1% chance of getting the job.
It’s as hard as an external one unless you already have it promised for you.
I would get out of banking, it’s a dead industry. Look into government jobs (state, federal, & local).
