UK RSUs?

Heard a lot of underwhelming RSU allocations? Also some bands (P/M) in different countries received more shares?
Thoughts or comments?

I can tell you for certain there was not one TAM in the UK that got 800 RSUs as this would have been P6 level and there are no P6 TAMs in the UK

From what I’m hearing about what offers people have been offered the plan seems to be to keep a handful of very senior technical staff and managers and a load of junior staff, with everyone in-between being encouraged to leave. So, they want those who are very experienced and are eying up retirement in the near to mid term and those who are just starting out to stay on for the next 3 years which is how long Hock expects VCF revenue growth for. The skewed RSU offer distribution for those they want to keep suggests this is the case. This could work out well for quite a few people, especially the younger employees.

TAMs and Consulting Architects got 800. A very uneven distribution of RSU allocations across the workforce, seemingly based on the perceived value of that individual in support of the strategy to adopt VCF in the largest customer accounts. However, I wouldn’t be so confident in collecting the full value of the RSUs. PSO will be non-billable going forward so they will be at the mercy of the success of the adoption strategy. If this underperforms Hock’s promises to his shareholders then he will cost-cut aggressively and TAMs and P6 people will be an easy way to slash costs. For the record, he is already a bit behind - just listen to the last earnings call. But it is early days. Given how relatively poor job security is at Broadcom vs VMware and the major shake-up of the market, I’m really not sure that the majority of RSU offers will be enough to keep our best people.

$1Million... What roles got 800 RSUs?

The RSU element of my welcome letter was a surprise/insult to me. Paricularly when I learned that individuals, that are widely regarded as passengers at best, pond life in reality have $1M in RSUs it confirmed my preconception that BC want motivated enforcers to keep the minions in line. That said my decision was made before the underwhelming offer was received.

25% was only for P4's.
P3's and P5's got different amounts.

The bonus percentage is clearly listed per grade on the Broadcom HR site. The TAMS bonus fully aligns with this!

I doubt the offers would be revised. They already mirror the better terms offered to the Irish.

Perhaps BC made a mistake there as people are expecting them to be revised up if we all wait to sign or something.

Any news on whether offers will be revised?

“TAMs are great but how can they get over double what the people selling them get?”

Are the TAMs still keeping their yearly bonus? As maybe their OTE has been shrunk to just base salary so the RSUs is making up the difference? Whereas sales will still get their commission on top of their base? Does BC even have TAMs in the other divisions?

Offers are wildly different in the UK and seem to have little connection to tenure or level. Some got offered 80, others 128 and a small handful got 400-900 who were not even engineers. However, most offers seem to be insultingly low, I expect that many will move on...which is exactly what BC are seeking to achieve.

We got less RSUs yes but at least we don’t have to go into an office.

We all (no matter the role) got less than our US counterparts.
Don't be angry at other UK staff, but annoyed that someone who does your exact same job in a country with less TAX gets more RSUs.

Seems like a mess, hearing of middle managers getting $1m+ and IC's getting $50k, could just be another BC HR fu-k up.

Tons looking to go on the back of TAMs getting over double what sales have been offered. Could criple the UK business the way it's going. TAMs are great but how can they get over double what the people selling them get?

This is true, very underwhelming offers indeed. It's nothing personal, I think BC simply want a much smaller operation in the UK specifically. If you compare the RSU element with the likes of Amazon and Microsoft, it falls well below market leaders.

I got pi-s poor RSU, pi-s poor.
Even when they review it annually it would still be pi-s poor, I don’t care anymore.
