The rumors are there will be more layoffs on devices going from pixel to home devices and that will happen on next couple months.
Just wondering why couple months instead next financial quarterly announcement.

@5bxv+1qWXkwfY Google's growth has been through acquisitions, not by making new products themselves. Unless if they can find a company to acquire, they are doomed because they will not be able to make anything themselves.
A lot of this is really fixed by the federal government using the same coercive power it uses on the states: stipulations to receive federal money. There shouldn't be homeless people on Social Security when you can get a house in Scranton, PA for under $100k. The government simply needs to change the rules to reduce SS payments in wealthy areas and increase them in places like Scranton.
Isn't it that different from what they did when they forced federal contractors to get a covid vaccine, or lose their job? Why should the retirees be given preference on these issues, while the rest of us can barely make ends meet?
Most importantly, what will AI do to our own employment? Are we really being replace, or will there be more opportunity for us in the new Google? I think you are right on this. Google never really recovered their momentum after giving up on Plus. There hasn't been a big innovation ever since Plus, just more and more products being shut down. It's starting to feel like we're IBM or AT&T. Decent cash flow from the locked in customers, but no more growth prospects.
Why does Google need to make hardware….not that google’s hardware is exceptional ? Stick to software….
Basically, your jobs are being replace by AI. No matter what the CEOs say about AI and they are NOT replacing jobs, they are flat out lying. They say, over time AI will create more jobs. That's not true at all. Those jobs are gone forever. So many people are in debt right now even while working multiple jobs. Everything is continuing to expensive. And now with the Red Sea issue, there will be supply chain issues (by summer), driving prices and inflation even higher. We are headed for a recession. Just look at all the homeless people - many who are elder seniors on a fixed social security income that no longer can afford the high prices of rent. So many folks are sleeping in their car and joining the gym to use the showers. How many times are the jobs numbers that are reported get revised after they are officially reported?
This is just one example video of the reality the rich are ignoring:
