Gas Distribution Ontario - People Leaders

If you have reports that are all union staff it would seem that your chances of being on "the list" after seeing the last few posts. The company will need fewer of you.

Agreed. Its a blame game. I know of one married advisor in an Ontario GTA office who flirts with the clerks all the time and does no work worth mentioning. I don't think he would have a job were it not for nepotism.

"They have needed the advisors in the past because clerks make so many mistakes. Fewer clerks, probably no need for advisors"

The reason why the clerks make so many mistakes is because they keep getting incorrectly advised by the advisors. A sneaky job protection scam.

650 families are about to have a significant life changing event. Would be nice if people would stop being so mean to your co-workers..
Wishing everyone luck in this hard time.

Feeling salty about this post
As an advisor on my team, I don't have reports and don't want them. That's for my supervisor.
It means I have worked my butt off for the title and my knowledge base for my team is higher then my team mates.
Which means I get the most difficult work that others can't figure out how to do. And it my responsibility to coach my team when their knowledge is lacking. Also I get projects dropped on me last minute because my supervisor is confident I can take the ball and run with it.
My team would be in a world of hurt without myself and the other advisor if they were left with less experienced peeps trying to get critical work done in a timely manner.

An advisor shouldn't have direct reports...

There are "advisors" as well that have no reports or subordinates. They are useless.
