Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Any layoffs announced today?

It’s day one of the new fiscal year, and thus far it appears (at least in the U.S.) that the doom and gloom predictions about more layoffs to sales staff that would happen today seem to be false rumors.

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of layoffs that were announced today?

My guess is that layoffs are done... for now. It's never "done" with dell lol. I think part of the plan with this RTO thing is to force people to quit on their own freewill, which means Dell gets away with not paying severance. They know damn well this RTO thing is going to cause a LOT of people to quit. What's the point in working for a company if you don't have a chance to move up the latter/get promotions?

Agreed on the comment that RTO will cause some to leave. I know a few talented people that moved over the past few years to support their spouse's careers. Now that they can't move jobs as a remote employee, I don't see them sticking with Dell.

No. I think layoffs are done. They would not mix RTO with WFRs.
No management is that completely insensitive and incompetent.

I think they know they will bleed headcount in the coming months due to RTO policy.
