Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Hybrid-work RTO

The cowards removed and disabled the ability to comment about the new policy.
And the previous comments removed.

They know this is going to be a massive flop with a lot of push back.

I predict half the employees will opt for remote to their chagrin

I got hired 2 years ago in a state that has no office. I suppose it’s my problem that Dell hired me to be fully remote. It’s ridiculous. There is no relocation assistance and now I am blocked from being promoted. On top of that I’m pretty sure Dell will use the next WFR to eliminate remote employees. In 2 years with a company, I cannot believe the amount of lies Dell feeds us.

“ Tell Dell is going to be a blood bath.” I don’t know that tell Dell is real because let’s face it they told us that in the last tell Dell we asked to come back to the office. I don’t know anybody that asked for that.

Anyone here posting that this is a good thing is a typical dell boot li---r. The hypocrisy of MD is blatant and I hope some news organization holds him and JC accountable. This is a financial hostage process. Their reasoning for doing this is total bs and every employee knows it.

@oyq+1qVnWF5w You're making false assumptions that everyone not within commuting distance to an office moved away from one. Countless offices around the US were closed during covid and were not re-opened. This has stranded many employees across a wide range of organizations with no office to return to. So they should be punished for this? I'd be cool with going into my old office a few days a week, but it no longer exists and I have no choice but to be remote. I guess that's my fault, eh? They wrote this blanket policy like everyone lived near Round Rock or Hopkinton pre-covid and that's simply not reality.

"after 18yrs"

2 decades at dell is not the badge of honour you think it is.

I wouldn't mind returning to the office near me, if Dell first returned the office to which I can return. Dell closed it and gave up the lease. They also closed the near nearest office. The nearest remaining office is now several hours and two states away. Will Dell be providing tent grounds, hopefully with good drainage and a potable water source, for long distance commuters?

It's funny reading people's comments. They asked, they slow rolled and gave people time to RTO of their own free will. People ignored the requests, now they will mandate the RTO. Today's announcement has 0 impact for me, except that more people will be back in the office. I am happy that they have also removed the "1hr" rubbish, if you decided to move farther away from an office that is on you. Do I think working in office makes me safe...no, after 18yrs I am not naive to think that

Instead of leading Dell middle management lemmings spend 10+ hours a day on this site manipulating posts. Yes it's that pathetic. These people are walking parasites.

"asking to be at the top of the list next round of WFRs"

over 50% of people are remote. you are silly you think you are safe cause you are willing to come into the office.

You're weak and feeble so yes you should bend at the feet of dell for your career growth

in my opinion anyone who signs up for remote for a role that they dedicate as "hybrid" is asking to be at the top of the list next round of WFRs. It already makes you ineligible for promotions which should be the first red flag/sign that this could be true. Honestly i don't think its the hill i would personally want to die on.

I say we all opt for remote. I already have a good group of us. Let’s stick it to the Man.

I'm livid. Short sighted, absolutely pointless, possibly illegal and just goes to show how much they 'care'.
Tell Dell is going to be a blood bath.
