It’s fine and all to knock the car toads and to cut jobs…. Until your cars are worn. Excess play in cushion and draft, flanges thin and high, worn couplers that can’t hold guts, burnt beams, air leaks, bolsters out of tolerance, and the list goes on.
Now you’re at the mercy of contractors you THOUGHT were going to be cheaper until they had power and leverage. Good luck keeping THAT dwell down.
Now you’re running worn out and busted cars and you’ve lost the generational knowledge and tricks of the trade. You’ve demoralized the last few genuine men working for you. The FRA payoffs aren’t working any more because the condition of the cars is making it on the news and people are asking questions. They HAVE to do SOMETHING.
The contractors see the news and the FRA Bad Orders and put two and two together… and realize they’ve got you by the rigging. They start to bleed you while a couple customers turn to the BNSF for more affordable and reliable service…
Now you’re in a pickle.
You should’ve ran a reasonable railroad and invested in your men. Instead you let some Vanguard and Blackrock dorks push you around for VERY SHORT TERM GAINS WITH LONG TERM COSTS.
You dweebs are starving this thing to make it look good temporarily, it’s going to become a liability to our nation. Sacrificing morals for money isn’t novel, they’re going to investigate you…
