I only know of one person who was let go immediately…. Were any given notice that they have to train someone?.. or is that in the next rounds??

It has already started. I know at least three program managers from the engineering team were let go on Friday; each had been at Nielsen for more than 10 years. They started with the US as usual because it is easier and quicker to let people go; the international market will be later perhaps it in the coming weeks. I'm just curious it was supposed to be offshoring; they cut them loose just as they did last year in the layoff round and their roles cannot be offshore to someone in India or Mexico!
This gets worse with each passing day. Reducing severance to 1 week per year employed is slap in the face of the remaining employees who are being asked to transition the work offshore
