As a person who was fortunate enough to received an offer by Broadcom post VMware acquisition, I told myself I'd give it at least 6 - 10 months before re-evaluating my career situation. Over my 15 year career and being 3 months into this acqusition, I can easily say this is the worst company I've ever worked for and it's not even close.
Things I've noticed that are very concerning:
- They don't Communicate (literally anything....)
- Don't Invest in any tools that could streamline processes
- They give a damn about anyone but a shareholder
- CEO is a tyrant who spouts out all kinds of offensive things, with no repercussions
- Constantly changing processes without any communicating them
If I had know even a fraction of what I know now on how Broadcom would operate, treats employees, and treat VMware customers, I would have taken the severance and ran.
For all the people who say, the RSU's are great...sure, but even that is not worth it for me at this point. Also, before I get any smartass responses, don't worry I'm already looking for a new job and will be gone soon enough.
