Why are we once again seeing people who do the best work being served their walking papers and the plethora of sycophants and a--kissers remain safe? As long as I live I will not understand why things like this keep happening. It's more than obvious that things are getting worse after moves like this and it still keeps happening.

No one wants to hear the reality so downvote this as you wish. A portion of those let go were performance problems. That’s a fact. A portion were same level reporting overlaps. You don’t need an L5 into an L5 into an L5. A lot of those let go were contingent workers. That’s a common pattern, and anyone at MA for any length of time knows that contingent comes and goes in waves. I have no doubt that some good people got swept up. What I did not see is what is really needed: a significant reduction in the VP+ range on the product and business side. Technology runs pretty thin on senior management but it seems you need an SVP for every last product under the sun while engineering SVPs build and run multiple products and platforms. Wanna save some money? Clean that part up.
Id--ts, that's who.
