Please, give the computer back to your parents. Do not use your parents accounts to dredge up days-old threads and make childish posts.

There are counting how many visa holders in the org and based on that calculating cost by Broadcom. They have put all visas and GCs on hold. Risk is higher for visa holders.

They have an obligation to check. I.e. if your visa had expired, there could be consequences for them. This is normal for most companies.

Broadcom immigration policies are different as compared to VMware. Thus teams are collecting this information to see what they can do/ figure out if they could help out.

Always remember. When you are on a visa or in the eay stages of the green card process, you are highly valuable to the company. You can't leave easily and you are likely accepting lower compensation in return for the opportunity of a lifetime (becoming a permanent resident).
I did that years ago and I was always treated fairly in the process.
All of us who embarked on this immigration journey knew of the drawbacks and risks from day one. So, stop implying you're a victim here. It's the path you chose and you can always leave that path and pursue plan B. You have a plan B, right?

I would guess that folks closer to needing a visa renewal will be considered for termination sooneri than those not needing renewal.

Renewal is a cost, and Broadcon is all about not paying for anything.

IANAL but I believe It can be grounds for a complaint

AFAIK asking things beyond "Are you legally able to work in this geo?" is iffy

If employment in a country is based on you having a valid work visa then what's wrong with being asked the status. Dont see what the issue is.

is anything normal under octane? I'd be asking your buddies in other companies if that a SOP where they work .....and make a plan based on their answer. Ignore the posts here as we are all trolls
