Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Another big swing and a miss from Dell

They’re going to release their RTO policy.

Yes, badge tracking will be in place. Hybrid model is recommended 3 days a week and remote workers will have no career advancement.

Here’s the most foolish part about it. You don’t have a permanent place in the building. The services are terrible and there isn’t enough seating.

I’ve got my popcorn and ready to watch the sh*t show unfold. I’ll bet there will be so many modifications to the policy by May that it will be irrelevant.

Regardless, this is why Dell management needs to go.

Any details about the remote qualifications? Someone said if you are under 3 years in role or more than 50% of your team is in office you don’t qualify.

Yes. Total failure of epic proportions. They had a fire sale on land, building, and equipment and promoted remote work.

Then, oops, need you guys to come back into the office cause all the cool companies are doing rto.

I have never seen such backtracking, reneging, and fumbling.
it is literally a barrel of monkeys managing this company

This is right out of Hock Tan’s playbook that MSD and JC probably have great insight into during the whole VMware spin/acqusition.

My guess is that JC is new CEO and thinks he can emulate Hock’s success and 10x Dell valuation by following same playbook.

Managers received a notification about it yesterday. My manager confirmed what’s coming is true. Pay planning is also Monday so I’m sure they’re doing it to cause chaos because the managers will be swamped.
