Does anyone know if Optum or UHC have no compete agreements for their employees? I’m not talking about executive leadership, just regular employees.

It's simple. do not tell anyone where you are going. It's none of their business and they can't force you to tell them. Our leadership team tried hard to get it out of me, and was pi---d as he'll I wouldn't say, but once you say you are gone, they have zero leverage. Which is also why I used up my pto.
It really depends on your role, but I don't think so. I do know they can't hire you back in a contract roll until after 6 months though. I think you have to be in upper management to have non-competes. If you had people report to you there might be language that you can't take them with you for up to a year or two.
To receive equity grants you have to sign off of on some language that is NC-like. As others have said, not sure how enforceable it is.
I've never been asked to sign one, the only people I've ever heard of being asked to were on teams developing stuff UHG has patents on, which kinda makes sense. As others have said NCs are unenforceable some places. Unless you are working on AI dev or something similar, I wouldn't worry about it.
They are unenforceable in many states.
It does not matter in our state. An ex-employer cannot deny a person future employment. I never signed one. But we were acquired like 4 times in 5 years and ended up sitting in the Optum Nest.
