Qualcomm results misleading

In a report, Chatterjee called the current smartphone recovery "modest." Also, Qualcomm's results and outlook likely benefited from inventory restocking ahead of product launches by Android handset vendors, he said.

Apparently it was not the recovery but inventory restocking that saved the day. Expect for a drop next quarter. For now CA and his sidekick AP gets to fool the employees for one quarter. They still have not stopped from chanting AI which is not helping one bit.

@4flq+1qRFkpav times have changed old timer. Nowadays, teams call can be on a phone from inside the house or as a hotspot over 5G from a scenic area.

@3skt+1qRFkpav. When I was working (no longer) it was mostly remote, so no I'm not an RTO person. Video conferencing was done with computer (not cell phone) using cable company as ISP (up to 500Mbps) , so 5G had nothing to do with anything. It's my phone that uses 4G, and my phone doesn't need 5G.

@2mdu+1qRFkpav I take it you're an RTO guy. 5G works wonders for teams video-conf calls!

It's true that not recognizing the name of a chip company may not be that important. However, the point made earlier about 5G might be valid. My cell phone plan (and phone) are both 4G, and I have no plans to upgrade to 5G. I don't need it, and as far as I can tell it wouldn't make any noticeable difference anyway. Maybe some other applications might someday see benefit ...

@1nvk+1qRFkpav very few people also know if the plane they are on is a Boeing, Airbus , or Embraer. They know the name of the airline. What's your point?

It is amazing how few people actually recognize the name “Qualcomm.” I’ve traveled recently and no one recognized the brand. When I mentioned 5G, no one was impressed. They thought it would be this big difference, but universally said they really haven’t noticed much of a difference if any. What everyone did recognize is the names of certain apps, and noted how often they are used.
