Hostile work environment

The layoffs, the push for RTO, all of this is part of a larger whole to create a hostile work environment that will get more people to quit. It's much cheaper for Dell if we decide to throw in the towel and walk away instead of having to give us a severance package to leave. These changes for the worse are a feature, not a bug.

Dell: We support you in your life decisions due to your unique family circumstances, we believe in diversity and blah blah blah. You are performing well and have been promoted and changed jobs over last eight years at Dell as a remote employee. We were work from home before it was cool.

Me: I turned down higher paying opportunities because Dell was flexible and supportive. I rant and rave to my family and friends about what a great place it is and my team is global and all over the country. I have no commute and can take my kids to school. While I would like to be paid more, the time I am saving and the time I get with my family is priceless.

Dell: Now that you are firmly entrenched in your community and have passed up far more lucrative roles - here is a big cup of: “F—K YOU”. Oh and in metro of almost 10 million we barely have an office for you to go to if you even wanted or could.

Me: Thanks Dell for the stress of knowing I am no longer valued and will be first on the cutting board when the time comes. I guess it’s time to quite quit cause what’s even the motivation anymore.

it's a cr-p show before the changes that are up coming and will be even worse later. I know it's causing people alot of frustration and yes, people are looking. My guess is there will be a mass exodus after bonus and will be good people leaving. This is going to hurt the company.
