Michael isn’t hurting for money, but this hurts the company as his sales teams are hurting to meet quotas. But Michael sc--wed over everyone being the person Hock went initially and took it to the board and voted yes. He could have said voted no.
The customer pressure this has already placed just on Dell customers having had renewals due this month. Customers and partners are PI---D since Dell could no longer quote renewals and they were left scrambling to go to distis to get a non-OEM renewal. What a dumpster fire.
F Dell (the company). Michael’s actions while looking after VMW is key driver for the acquisition. He made his bed, and billions, and HT cancelled the sweetheart deal they pressured VMW to cut when they were in control. The add no value and are simply box pushers anyways. Sc--w em.
This move is likely due to Broadcom taking the top 2000 customers direct and cutting Dell out. Dell will find other vendors to work with and VMware will no longer come as an installable option on Dell servers. HPE and others will do the same.
Hock Tan's team was prepared and Broadcom is procuring items at fractional percent cost of Dell.
MD was playing with VMW all along and is trouble on AVGO unless he exits.
Papa Dell is still laughing all the way.
The Dell relationship only takes care of Dell. Octane finally told them off and they have to figure out how to get back in good graces.
