Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

Is anybody else not motivated to look for another job?

It's not that I don't want to leave, but with the job market in the state that it is, I'm worried there are way too many people applying for the same jobs. Which means that the rejection rates will be higher than usual, and I really don't want to subject myself to that. I probably should force myself to do it, but I just can't find the motivation.

If in worst case mass layoffs will happen then there will be a lot of people in your position. It is probably your last call. Look how many companies announced layoffs this year. Other companies will not. Be able to take all these people

You don't have much to lose by applying. At the very least you will be able to better gauge what the labor market is like for what you do, may even get a chance to brush up on your interview skills. It is harder to find a job after you've been laid off.

Best thing to do is apply while you still have a job to fall back on. Rejection is brutal but staying stagnant in a position you dislike is worse.

Even just doing 5 applications per day gets you 25 in a work week or 35 if you do weekends. It’s brutal but if you want to leave, it’s worth it. Hang in there
