Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Are we done for now?

Which areas were most impacted?

To some posters - agree that 1% doesn’t sound catastrophic, but it actually may be for every person who lost their job. Some teams report ½ to ¾ coworkers gone. Feel for everyone - both those who lost jobs, and those who stay and will have to take on work for 2 or more people.

Companies Dell's size don't fail like that and disappear.

i've had a great run though and really grateful for some of the great people ive worked with, friendships made for life, skills learned, got to see parts of world i never would have got to have seen otherwise, sure there has been times when was defo worked to the bone and could have earned far more elsewhere, but glad i stayed and will chalk it all down to experience, worried and hoping the axe doesn't fall for me in this wave and really feel for those who have been impacted already

The layoffs have been so constant that at first survivors were doing the work of 2, then 3, then 5…. Dell is sawing every team to the bone and doesn’t care about business performance any more. Feels like everything has been hijacked or burned to the ground just so a few executives can enjoy higher stock prices.

I’ll be surprised if this company is still around 10 years from now. Was a fun place to work until 2019 and has been a burning trash fire since.
