The upcoming layoff is for poor performers and redundant Directors/Sr. Directors. Sales and Marketting is still too heavy and will have to cut at least 5% given the customers who are moving away from QCOM.

There's been a slow down in Qualcomm US hiring compared to India and other global sites, which is the first step before layoffs. Next up: non-revenue generating teams may be impacted this round in the US like marketing, human resources and finance.
