If the company is found guilty of the whistleblowers information the the company should have to pay that person's salary until retirement. You won't work for them no more but continue a paycheck. If a company can pay dividends to their shareholders they can certainly pay a couple whistleblowers.

With the attitude of how we could
not possibly do it the idea is dead before it started. No wonder we can't build a safe aeroplane. We no longer think outside the box.

One thing that is common among Whistleblower's , past and present. No matter who whistleblower works for, including the Federal Government. Once they blow the so-called whistle, most likely 9 out of 10 times the Whistleblower leaves their job with their company. History probably shows the ones that stay end up leaving anyway due to being shunned or career is over. Taking the risk becoming a Whistleblower no matter who you work for is a risk, a biggie. How are any changes in current rules or laws effecting Whistleblowing going to change that?

Couldn't he tighten the bolt himself? Or strap himself to the plane until it's done right?

It's time for the government to strengthen Whistleblowing laws to protect us more from retaliation.
