Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

How’s everyone doing?

Tomorrow is the first day business day after lay offs are complete. You’re either headed to work without your laid off colleagues there and a new org structure awaiting you or starting your day without a job. Hard on everyone in different ways. Hope everyone affected is doing okay.

If you WFM, you’re done. A.I and outsourced jobs are the new norm. A happy young Filipino, Indian, or South American will happily fulfill your responsibilities at a small fraction of your pay.

Mid level management ($100k+) is the costliest in all companies nationwide. If you make below that & are a minority, consider yourself safe for next year.

I had 28 years as a Visual Manager back during Covid. Was the best thing Macys did to my career. Not only was I able to launch my own businesses, I have my own schedule now and can spend quality time with my family now. It definitely was a "Blessing in Disguise"!
