Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3M microcosm

The fact that m and m can make tens of millions while literally bankrupting this company is a perfect example of whats wrong with capitalism in this country.

The greed, narcissistic behavior, and the self importance of the Top down leadership style at 3M has never been any higher, it may be at an All time high when the corporation is sinking and crumbling. Anytime you need substance and real chang, this leadership team especially Mike and Monish, all we get is platitudes, word salad, and self congratulatory rhetoric about success, no accountability, no real actionable change except job cuts and well more job cuts, it's like there is only one play in the playbook and the company su-ks at executing that. People don't come here just to complain or mouth off, they come here to vent because they want some real changes and a leadership group that has some actual empathy, compassion and a plan to make changes, grow the company and grow sales again. We do not have engagement we have self agradizing leaders that think they alone can fix it or the problems we all face. They talk about innovation and throw the word around like it actually means something at 3M the last 4 or 5 years. I'm on a team that has become isolation Island, that barely engages day to to day let alone helps each other. Attitudes and effort reflect leadership, and this is why today's Bold CEO huddle was just more of the same. When will the board and CEO and shareholders finally see we need new leadership, a reboot and a fresh start? If they don't there will be few left that can salvage this ship. He'll bankruptcy seems inevitable withh all the anchors stuck on our necks.

Sadly, speaking of clapping...there will be some fools that will do it at the next company huddle. Shameful.

No accountability. Culture has tanked, sales have shrunk, and smaller margins, no growth, and no innovation. Yet, Mike reported a successful year. Everyone clap.

M&M delivered a year of 8,500 careers and families being wrecked. More coming in 2024. Another 5,000 sacrifices needed. Mike and Monish can collect their bonuses, incentive payments and more. M&M will race each other to the bank while another 5,000 will need to pick up the pieces. 3Mers are good people and my thoughts and hope is that each impacted employee will figure out next steps and execute successfully on their next job. Hopefully a company that will value them and respect them.
