Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Needs More Adjustments

We encounter a limited overlapping time with our India team, primarily from 7 - 8 AM, a period often impacted by commuting or childcare responsibilities. Unfortunately, this timeframe is also late for the India team. Despite the primary business operations occurring in the USA, substantial control is delegated to the India team. There's a notable concern regarding the team's tendency to rush tasks, neglecting proper processes, leading to avoidable delays and errors. To address this, I propose relocating Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Architects to the US for improved coordination.

Moreover, there's an issue with Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings being delegated to engineers in USA who are not responsible for these matters. To ensure efficiency, those accepting roles should be prepared to stay back when necessary. While colleagues in the US maintain a respectful and considerate approach towards their Indian counterparts, reciprocal considerations from the India team are currently lacking. Addressing these concerns will contribute to a more collaborative and efficient work environment.

I am writing for my cousin who works in their India office. He has been harassed by a team leader but he is afraid to complain to his supervisor. This person challenges him on everything he does. My cousin is only a few years in to his career and the trauma created by such experiences can ruin his mental health. DEI is only on papers. Northern Indians don’t like South Indian dark skinned people.

I use to love the work culture at Aap until they started the GCC. Left the company because of the pressure given by the folks in GCC. There is no respect for the people here. No time given for thinking and planning solutions. (I was also raised in India so this is not an issue with the country but the team that I had to deal with)
