Lincoln is wanting me to file social security disability but said I can keep my benefits through Walmart. It won't affect them they said

Ask your claim representative to provide the FAQ from Lincoln. The FAQ answers a bunch about SSA claims. The only thing it doesn't answer is if they will reduce your LTD benefit if you receive a lump sum/back pay one a SSA claim is approved. I will try to answer that question in a couple of months as I'm in the process of having an SSA administrative law judge hearing soon after over a year of working with a SSA attorney. My SSA claim was denied twice during that time, I highly recommend you hire a reputable attorney to help with the SSA claim process. They can also help with VA benefit increases when a disability is service connected.
Although it su-ks to be disabled, at least with LTD you don't have to work with Sedgwick (except for LOA beyond policy after 1+ years of LOA). Sedgwick is insultingly bad, and they should feel bad.
Source: as a disabled veteran I've quickly discovered how social security was squandered by boomers just before they pulled the ladder up/died (i.e. historically voted for politicians who took away those very benefits, ironically from the voters themselves, aka leopards eating tasty faces, because Fox News told them brown people are being helped by those benefits, too)
U can be on long term as long as u want with Lincoln but walmart will let u go after a year
This is common practice for people who have been on long term disability for a while, and will possibly stay on it indefinitely. If you don't do it, they can stop payment on your current disability benefits. Once you are approved, the amount of social security you get will be clawed back from your disability payment. But a couple of good things will come out of this. 1. You will become eligible for Medicare at some point. 2. You will get cost of living increases annually from social security that can not be clawed back from your disability check.
