I have seen that LCS, Chemical and Products Commercial, Corporate Relations and Legal have been affected. Anybody else? Do we know how many people? What's the situation with severance? When will this end?

Nothing will get fully moved to India. There are too many LOBs in other parts of the world. Besides that it is clear Shell is working to downsize the workforce there.
Re: IT to SBO. Bangalore is the golden hub but the executives just pi---d off everyone there with the salary cuts. Are they really going to move more IT jobs to Bangalore when Shell left a bad taste on India’s workforce? Doesn’t make sense to me but I’m just low on the totem pole.
It's a never ending cycle, this what you signed up for when you agreed to work for Shell. Most sites will experience a "re-org" every 2-3 years. Hope you like having your workload doubled and pay stagnant.
If I were in the Global functions in the US, i would be preparing my resume. I think they are going to try to move as many people as possible in RE, IT, Legal and Finance to the SBOs. Based on earlier postings, looks like they already started in Legal.
Still haven't really heard anything around the rumor mill.... ? :o
I understand the business analyst positions are moving overseas, and there is some talk about the sale of the refined products terminals.

@Rockets which location are you at? PIMZ?
@rockets what part of PT?
I did get notified today by my manager that my position is going away/I am impacted! Was told to expect a call with a further confirmation/details in 1-2 weeks. I am in P&T/US. It is starting people!
Heard in IDE call today that they sent out survey and we might hear only the results of survey in March but that they currently have no idea on timeline of restructure or even if a restructure is needed. Mark did mention he thinks we have too many layers of management.
Impacted individuals will be informed before the end of February.
Is there impacts to GOM?
We were informed that at end of February we will know from GM what happens next. At risk letters will be sent out at month end. GM VPs know the naames already..
What part of PT
It has started in P&T. My line manager gave me a heads-up. He is waiting for HR to communicate the timeline.
A high BPF - what does that mean - if anything - for layoffs? Calm before the storm?☔️
This board is quiet because layoffs have been the norm at Shell for quite a few years now. We love to keep the dead weight around and pass them around from one org to another until a reorg is mandated by the Shell Gods.
“ Isn’t stuff going to hit the fan soon?”
Sounds like “stuff” is insanely huge, that scared stuff out everyone !
Why this board so quiet? Isn’t stuff going to hit the fan soon?
Shell can feel like a nice comfy and satisfying place, IF we’re not going through the predictable energy industry cyclical contraction. In the meantime, other opportunities present and might just tempt enough to line up before the axe falls.
“Walmart said its store managers can now earn up to $400,000 annually, with the company announcing on Monday that it will give $20,000 in stock grants each year to Supercenter managers.” - CBS news - January 30, 2024
Expect fireworks on Feb 1st after the full-year report when "The Chemicals & Products segment is expected to make an Adjusted Earnings loss in Q4’23." We can hear about the contingency plan during the press conference.
Those were all warm ups, P&T will crank it up.
Waiting around to get laid off by Shell feels like waiting to get dumped by your boyfriend that you've been daydreaming about cheating on for years.
