Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

PG must go

He needs to go asap. He’s bankrupting the company. How could headcount go UP when he publicly stated we are restricting hiring and in fact doing cuts?

He needs to stop pandering to DC senators and do the job he was hired to do which is to fix the company. He still makes $178M per year. Disaster unfolding in slow motion.

Pat is the only thing keeping the company afloat at this time. Intel hired BK and then Swan which was basically a lost six years of in action. There is no one in the industry that's competent that would take the CEO job today and try to turn it around. They would take the job, and shut it down and walk away with a golden parachute vs trying to revive it.

He is doing a lousy job than a minimum wage Amazon truck delivery in a day IMO.

@1dxo Broadcom has done more damage to VMware in two months than Pat ever did during his 9 /12 years there. They're alienating customers and employees alike.

From what I've gathered from the vmware section of this site, Broadcom is an awful company to work for, even worse than Intel.

Pat has no ability to fix the company.
He demonstrated that by destroying vmware, and arrogantly thinking he could buy EMC (the parent company) so he could be CEO of a bigger company.
He's quite full of himself.

Executives should get 5 year vestments encourage long term growth instead fast turn around to artificially inflate stock and trash the company. Attach their compensation to a 5 year plan...

You are assuming isn't all part of the master plan.

  • Drive stock down
  • Come up with a audacious plan to save the company (5N4Y)
  • When that doesn't work, break up the company and reap the benefits after putting all your people in place running said companies.

The CEO pay argument is old and tired. I want the person in charge of where I work to be the best. His performance impacts my job.

Also, the pay argument is just plain stupid. If PG made less, do you really think you’d make more? That argument is basically saying that shareholders need a raise.

If Swan was still CEO, the bozos sorrounding him would have eaten the company alive. PG is the saviour

You’re thinking about this all wrong. You should be wondering how the average cost per employee has changed. You can fire expensive engineers and replace them with cheap ones…but cheap engineers make cheap garbage.
