Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

This is mental torture

I swear, I can't take much more of this. Citi wins. I'll start looking for a way to leave on my own.

Nothing is more important than yourself and your mental health. We got to do what is best for ourselves. We are just a number on the balance sheet.

First, always do what's best for you. Having said that here are my two cents. If you have a long tenure at Citi and your performance is consistent then take some days off to decompress and return because they want to keep pushing people to leave. If not, then polish your resume and start applying because the process of getting changing companies can be long.

Working at Citi is not for the weak.

Have in mind that 90% will stay. Odds are in your favor.

However also consider than landing in a new job will take more time than what the severance is going to last for many of us.

It’s a personal decision and surely not easy.

It’s not that big of a deal. 5000 managers to be gone by Q1. Exiting business you already know. If you’re not part of O&T you’re pretty safe. If you’re part of O&T just see the writing on the wall. Pay attention to meetings. It’s going to be 10 k over next two years. It’s bad but not as bad as previously thought.

Don’t let Citi win. Use your sick days and take break.
