I loved my time at Cengage but the way they left exited me was simply cruel. The people are amazing but the c-suite is too far removed from reality and the real needs of customers. They set unrealistic goals, use really wonky data to predict things like enrollment trends and give most people very similar goals despite varied market conditions. As a result, really great people who are really fantastic at their jobs will miss targets. Expect to always feel like you are on the chopping block, whether you are a top performer or have been there 3 months or 30 years. You are easily replaced. That's not uncommon these days, so keep upskilling and learning new things. Be ready for anything and do your best not to take it personal, even though it is. Great starter job to gain experience in a fairly complicated sales process. Fun culture. But don't get too attached.

With Cengage Unlimited, students have access to millions of online pages of text or in Cen-speak, MOPST. Not to give away too much, but Marketing will soon unveil a multi-million dollar initiative promoting the use of 'MOPTS', a clever acronym newly minted by a Madison Avenue firm!
Let me be clear, the MOPTS Team will be hired after an upcoming strategic realignment. The team will prioritize diversity, collaboration, and inclusion. These are not buzzwords, they are essential to our credo, as well as my own personal ethos.
