As of the morning of January 23, 2024 Lowe’s hardware in Mooresville corporate laid off the entire IT department, my mom worked as a manager in the IT department for the last almost 20 years with Lowe’s. She had a feeling this was because about two years ago she add a couple other managers had to go over to India and help get an IT department open and help train some people. They were told this morning that the whole IT department was being laid off, and their jobs were going overseas to India. My mom had planned to retire from there being she has been with the company almost 20 years and she is 66 years old.

Anyone effected by the layoff on January 23 receive their severance package? HR told my wife she would receive her package in 14 days, which was Wednesday. Today, she receives her regular pay deposited. WTF is going on with Blowe’s?
Most companies are taking their IT teams to the cloud. They aren’t using large data centers of their own. They are using Azure, OCI, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud… leave it to Lowe’s to go the India route.
Everyone else will be using AI and Lowe’s will be using cheap labor…
Looks like the layoffs did nothing but drop the stock price. Hmm, wonder if that's because investors are starting to lose confidence.
Is Lowes no longer American
The CIO like to see the company owned by India.
so now the same people who work in the scam call centers run IT for lowes.
As long as stores are mot making sales plan layoffs will continue.
It support is where she worked and said everyone was let go
All IT support went to pathetic Indian call centers now.
Not all of IT. I've been there over 20 years and I'm still employed. In fact none of my team was affected. I did hear some SSC-B folks got hit too. That was a surprise.
Not the entire IT group. What department
Same thing happened to my wife yesterday. Been with IT for 18 years. Everything going to India. Lowe's Blowes. I'm shopping local form now on.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll just go to Home Depot from now on.
200 in India can't accomplish what 20 US workers can.
