The reason the 737 sold more airplanes than any other aircraft manufacturer was because it had the best safety record. Not because it had the most diverse workforce or the best diversity record.
The Boeing company lost site of what is important. The 737 Max destroyed the safety reputation of the 737 and it will never be recovered.
Whatever and who cares... The 60 year old 737 design isn't the safest airplane anymore. And the Boeing company is now the worst aerospace company of all time and has the long list of failed projects and names of dead souls to prove it.
I dunno, the obsession with LEAN has always been pitted against rigorous product evolution. Bad decisions get made by bad managers which all appear to still be part of the landscape. If the B wants to earn back the rep, my two cents - start taking out the folks who's finger prints are on those lovely shortcuts which became the messes. Tighten up the NPD circus and don't trade TAKT time for quality EVER.
