PMIC Workplace Culture Improvement Ideas

It is no secret that the PMIC team in San Diego is notorious for its toxic work culture. The toxicity is deep rooted in the department even the HR can't do anything about it.

Some examples of bad things that nobody addresses: creating fear, having favorites, looking for scapegoats when something isn't working out, creating competition so people start to hide information and throwing each other under the bus. Never ask any questions because that will be taken against you. Promoting tech leads from cultures that are infamous for sl_ave driving. Those leads tend to prevail by bullying, yelling and threatening poor junior engineers in the US on visa. Manipulative managers who got nothing useful to do, and the list goes on.

What do you think can be done to fix this toxic culture?

The recent promotions to Senior Directors and VP in PMIC are poor leaders. The ones who can do the job aren't motivated and have been held back. Such a great group only to be destroyed by a few. Bring back the people who built it. The ones to blame are the SVP's who let this happen.

Guys, let's not be so mean to the PMIC folks, that is the best they could do. If they lose their jobs they have nowhere else to go. What happened to humanity!

What is new? The new Sr Dr is socially and technical inept. Reminds me of the GEICO caveman. 15 minutes you can blow up a bunch of PMICs.

What improvement ideas are we talking about here? The PMIC is a sad place. Only solution is to put most managers on PIP, that will be the most effective improvement plan.

There is nothing we can do to change the team. Just get out of there if you are in. This is the only action that can be taken on our side.

I have little interaction with the pmic and as far as I know it was led by svp gene until he retired about a year ago. It seems the guy was decent, he received tons of love comments on his linkedin page when he announced his retirement. Was the pmic bad back then when he was the manager, or after change of management?
