Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Micromanaging is a trait of a bad manager

The micromanaging as we all know comes as a result of the Sr leadership not knowing how to run the company. They are all from the world of finance or engineering with no operational knowledge of the CATV/broadband industry regardless of the positions they may have held prior to arriving here. Any leader who is a micromanager is a leader who does not know what their job is or how to do it so they are compelled with the need to know every minute detail of everything happening within their circle, and this company is filled with that type of leader at the highest levels. 2024 is already shaping up to be another disastrous year and possibly the worst one to date since the acquisition.

Bumping from @1pib+1qCPWfgh for being on point.

It makes no sense for a 30+ year employee to walk away on his own with no incentive being offered. Too close to quitting age to leave this job and start anew. What would the reason be? To be a scared chicken like yourself, fly the coup and run to the hills since ownership is bad? Ownership is bad in most large companies. Grass is sometimes brown on the other side.

Some of us have 30 years and an exit strategy...probably the d-mbest thing I've heard all day. If you were smart, as you should be after 30 years, you would be executing that exit strategy before the strategy becomes unavailable

Just my opinion but I would guess they are needing the data they gather from TecTrac to validate whatever changes that may be coming. You have to remember, Sr leaderships primary objective at this point in a company that cannot be turned around, is to keep their jobs for as long as they can. And since they absolutely do not have a clue how to successfully run this company the only thing they can do is rearrange the pieces on the chessboard every so often. To these people motion equals progress so if they can go to PD and say “From our study of the data we retrieved from TecTrac we have consolidated these efforts to maximize our maximizations and strategically improve our enhancement blah blah blah,” In short the information from this TecTrac exercise will be used to get rid of more people and facilitate yet another organization. Again, motion equals progress to these clowns and rearranging the chess board is motion.

Seven years since Altice took the reins and it has been one colossal failure after another many times multiple colossal failures at the same time. In that time there hasn’t been one thing they can point to as a success, not one. And no, dissolving ATS isn’t a success, it never should have been created in the first place.

The performance of your staff is how you are measured as a Supervisor. If you staff is not happy you will fail. Should be business 1o1.Mr Dolan “Charles” built the company this way.Altice is doing everything opposite and are paying the price.
