Tomorrow is Karthik's Momentum meeting where everyone has been saying he will announce a company layoff is coming. Although I'm nervous about it, it makes me wonder if anything anyone said here is true or they were simply saying things to make people nervous. Hoping for the best.

To the OP: You sound like a simpleton.
The layoff Sept 6th was predicted here MONTHS before it happened. I personally think there are managers creeping on here with souls that try to give a heads up when they can.
That said, I think there are alarmists on here too. The best thing to do is to prepare. If you're going to have decent severance, worry about it when it happens. If you aren't...start applying out like it is for sure happening. The worst that will come of that is a new job you aren't afraid of losing : )
