Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

excited about the future...

I am in a growing business at Citi. I am looking forward to next week so we can finally learn about the new structure and get on with it. I love my team and manager and we get support from the broader business.
There will always be frustrated, bitter and cranky employees, and they typically are more vocal. But Citi has a great culture (not perfect, but waaaay better than some other wall st firms), I love working here.

People, please. This is a bogus, fake, sarcastic thread started by Citi HR or a "Manager". And you're his SVCKERS who fell for it. LOL ! His A$$ is also waiting to see if he'll get get roasted and Laidoff. LOL!

baby doll, you are not gonna learn the new structure next week

at face value, the reorganization continues until at least the end of March, and based on their public statements, sr management are still planning to spend the next two years re-organizing

The numbers announced are over 2 years and achieved via natural attrition. Heard of so many promotions in different groups and areas and hiring still going on.

You are not the only one l, there are many that are very happy at Citi right now. Jane, Sara, Mike all have had great performance and salary increases.

People’s job is a small price to pay for the privilege of a new yatch.

It's a bit rude and insensitive to lead with a post, on a layoff site, about being excited about the future when many are being let go. Maybe there's another form you can shout your praise for this clearly mismanaged and dysfunctional company. Three cheers for rating people down instead of being honest about not having the money to pay great performers (sarcasm). Smh

Ok. This is clearly has to a toll post or HR post. Lol. Just because you are in a growing business now doesn't mean you won't get the axe in the summer or fall. A false sense of security is unwise but I guess that's your choice if this is a "real" post.

For me, I’m on a great team but its not alway been this way. most of the frustration and bitterness is due to history repeating itself with nothing changing. Much like removing layers of management by removing 300 MD and replacing them with 304 or getting rid of one encumber some process only to replace it with a worse one but being forced to use it as someone up on high tic’d it off as a win on their review. Lean model comes to mind.

When it all circles back around, its sold as a “new thing” that we’ve never seen before. There are some eye rolling and rinse, repeat.
