Anyone else feel we will be bought out in the next month anyway. The vultures are still circling. The stock is still a bargain.

@1dye You're 100% correct. Other posters here need to pay attention to what is in Macy's future.
It's not happening. Go to Macy's Press Release site and read it. Those of us who work for the company also got an email explaining the release in more detail.
The one good thing has always been that Macy's was totally committed to the retail end of the business. Macy's owns the real-estate to use as collateral.
If the investors take over they are only interested in one thing selling the real-estate and make instant money.
Without the real-estate as collateral Macy's will be doomed. The banks will limit financing without having real-estate for collateral.
This is exactly what Eddie Lampert did to Sears. He sold all the assets and made a fortune and the Retail side of Sears was no longer financed and in turn was liquidated.
Nope

My boss had a tin foil hat theory, but there sounded like something could be there?
Macys will have some sought of buyout, the name will change to bloomingdales (hence why Tony signed up for this) keeping Herald Square as a 1 off for festivities but more of a Macys / Bloomingdales @ Herald Square (so they have for parade)
This is a TOTAL loooong shot theory, but my point is....YES I too believe the story is not over. We will never know.
But thinking Tony Spring would not walk into a burning building with the intention he is going to save "Macys"
No, Tony will want to prove himself. EGO!!
I mean, are the things that happened not big enough?
