Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

First Union 2.0

I haven’t checked in a while…. Whew, that VSRP I took was the best thing I ever did. Truist sounds like sad and depressing place to work.

First Union reference is interesting. Suntrust tried a hostile takeover of Wachovia back when First Union was buying it. It was a bitter fight that they (Suntrust) did not win. Fast forward 20 years and they were gifted BBT and have successfully destroyed it. Interestingly Kristin Lesher was an MD at Wachovia when all this was going on and will shortly head wholesale banking for SunTruist. Small world isn’t it,

Might want to get out of banking if equity and diversity is something you don’t like as it is standard.

What does this "The 'equity' virtue signaling was nauseating" mean in the context of an ad? Why would that keep someone from using that bank?

I was part of the November RIF and much happier now.

I'm happy that I haven't seen one of their awful commercials lately. I would never consider using that bank due to those commercials. The 'equity' virtue signaling was nauseating.

In all subsidiaries… yes, it’s an incredibly sad place to work. The ship is sinking. And members of subsid executive leadership are MIA.
