The National Labor Relations Board has ruled that Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital engaged in unfair labor practices.
The NLRB’s Region 7 in Detroit confirmed it has identified10 unfair labor practices by the hospital in Rochester Hills, said Kayla Blado, NLRB press secretary.
Local 40 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union brought complaints of unfair labor practices as it attempted to negotiate a new contract with the hospital. Local 40 represents about 240 registered nurses and about 50 radiology technicians.
Representatives for Ascension Michigan, the health care company that operates the hospital, could not be reached for comment.
