I wonder it there's any kind of pattern besides the "performance" we all know means favoritism. Backstage managers maybe?

Performance based. If you were written up, then you’re first on the list to go.
Definitely not based on seniority, at least in my store. Lost 1 CXM and OOM (who I will greatly miss)
The targets are reached through attrition.
Based on seniority is a false statement
We lost 1 of our CXM’s. I don’t want to see anyone go the 3 CMX’s we had were all very nice but unfortunately 1 had to go. Sad day, and the 1 they let go was the hardest worker, her dept. loved her, she was always on the floor helping wherever needed. She also had the dept with the highest % increase LY. Talk about sh☹️☹️ting oneself in the foot. Our store sure did when letting her go.
You can thank Jeffrey for turning Macy's into a bargain basement.
The better customer no longer shops at Macy's because they know they can no longer find any quality merchandise.
Backstage is a great concept but Jeff destroyed the moderate and better business at Macy's. Jeff grew Backstage at the cost of Macy's. That will hurt this company for decades if we survive that long.
In the past four years Jeff cut over 6,000 jobs but yet he continued to make his millions . What a disgrace.
Bloomingdale's has maintained their position of better and designer merchandise and are doing well.
Hopefully Tony can figure out how to improve Macy's.
You’re all wrong. Seniority had nothing to do with it.
Backstage is keeping our store afloat. Massive amounts of that cheap stuff is flowing out of the building. Kmart blue light prices appeal to certain groups of shoppers.
It’s not about performance. It’s all based on seniority.
Lost 2, kept the ole cronies though.
