Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Managers will be under Tremendous Pressure

Moving forward Managers will be in Tremendous pressure for the following

  1. Reduce Cost
  2. No more Contractors
  3. Leverage AI and latest technologies
  4. Squeeze employees to get things done
  5. Generate Revenue

I am sure that surviving managers and executives are also already looking. Its going to be night mare for you to stay.
Please don't expect promotion under these scenarios. If you are in visa status, you are risking your stay.
Again Citi could be a good or better company in future. But Rome is not built in a day and for the future Citi, don't give your body, health and mind as bricks to build.
Relax, world is wide. Think good, listen to good music, hit the gym or even think about starting a new financial startup of your own based on your learning with Citi.

** ALL The Best **

@nbd+1qELnZ4m As a leader the pronoun should of been “we” and not “they”. “We” as a team will self organize and figure this out together.

Your poor management and lack of leadership skills is part of Citi’s problem.

What needs to happen is the one thing that will never happen. Workers need to put in 8-10 hours per day and no more regardless of deadlines. If everyone works massive hours all day every day including weekends, it gives the impression that we have more than enough people to get the job done.

It’ll never happen though as Citi manages out of fear and are quick to remind you that “better do it, or you’re next” and people step in line out of fear of not providing for their families.

This is Citi, motivate out of fear rather than motivate by treating their people well.

Managers are in a no win situation. After given less than lackluster end of the year rewards for working hard, how do you motivate people to put in long hours to pick up the slack from those you let go. The threat of “do it or you yourself will be let go” only goes so far. It makes you work just hard enough to keep from getting fired.
