Yes, I am following up on "they did not choose".
From my day today, my direct manager was told from the VP who was "to leave". She did not have a choice, however I believe HE chose (not random HR) . Now I know my boss did not choose because 1 in particular they kept has done NOTHING his entire employment, in fact he specifically is not put on projects because he is not capable of doing the job, the VP chose to let go of someone who was soaring, kicking butt , ready for promotion....so yes I believe favortism played a role because the useless 1 kept butters VP up with machismo fake corporate talk & GINORMOUS KISS A**

That store manager told a lie. Who they let go was based on performance. But maybe in your store manager’s case, they played favoritism.
Lost two great managers today and kept a new manager who doesn't know what they are doing and another one out on LOA who didn't even work the holiday season and can't be counted on to show when they're not on LOA. What a cluster, our manager told us that she had nothing to do with who was selected.
Colleagues are having a fit and both managers walked out after they were told. How is it that their last day in next Friday? The company has lost its way. What happened to empathy for people during these restructurings? How are supposed to find a job in just a week? Can't wait to see what our Pulse Survey looks like after the two fired managers leave.
They might be the lucky ones, it was brutal getting through last year with the staff we had. 2024 will probably be the last straw for a lot of managers who have to pick up the workload left behind after the departures.
