I was let go in July of 2020 with 20+ years. I went on to double my salary and improved my quality of life at my next employer.

The work ethic I brought from Staples to my new employer was not present. Not that they don’t execute, but rather, that level of effort wasn’t required to succeed.

The sad little men and women of the management team that let me go wouldn’t have a prayer of success where I am now.

Whether you get tossed, or leave on your own, just do it or embrace it. You won’t regret it.

Only Staples Brand product that’s worth a few paid to SP would be the paper. All other products are low quality and we should stick to the better known brands. And don’t get me started on the knew Pick me up products. So gross and the Marketing on them just terrible. Is this really the best we can do? That was rhetorical marketing new products or categories will come out strong and Peter out as always. This one isn’t even coming out strong. Doomed

Sycamore is planning to extract the last drop of blood from retail , before eventually letting the retail business die ( go bankrupt)..

You can read the tea leaves just by looking at the new royalty payments from Retail to Delivery business for using the Staples Brand . This is new.. AFAIk Retail never paid any royalty fees for using the brand till date.
That's one way of su-king the last ounce of life from Retail. Brace for Bankruptcy soon.

OP gone. Long over due. This guy was a tyrant, bully and the most two faced individual I have ever encountered in a professional setting. Those above him knew full well how he was and how he lead. Yet, they did nothing. Imagine how the company may have been, if people were treated with respect, supported, developed, weren’t fearful daily about their position? Many good people have left. Many more will follow. It’s a shame. All that to say. OP….good riddance!

Nobody is ever safe! If you stay here longer than a few years, there is something wrong with your personal drive because there are so many better places out there!

When are we going to learn that no one is safe and there is a target on everyone. Matter of time. Everyone has lost all confidence in leadership and the go forward strategy and good people continue to be let go.
