Bonuses will be pathetic

Everyone should prepare for lack luster RRP despite record breaking results shared with Wall Street last week

I actually heard that the raise pool is normally around 15%. This year, it's around 2%. But if you were in the fireside chat this week, you heard our fearless leader say that we had a good year. Not a great year, but a good year. And of course there are Market pressures. Which translates to we are a for-profit company that doesn't actually care a lot about its employees. I know small raises su-k. I know small bonuses su-k. Welcome to corporate america. I personally identified millions in savings in 2023, and I expect around 1%.

Everyone that reports to me will be given an increase from 1-4%. Bonuses from $500 to $3300 (different grades).

Nope. They don't even tell us what the goals are. It's just made up reason.

The rationale for poor RRP/Merit increases is that external goals were met but INTERNAL goals were not met. Does anyone know which internal goals were not met and how are is the company going to change that in 2024?

Be careful what you wish for. Got my largest bonus ever at UHC in 2023 than was laid off in August. LEAVE UHC! Even if you have to take a little less money somewhere else, your life will be much happier. UHG NETTED $22.4 BILLION in profit for 2023. How much money does a company who "Makes the healthcare system work better for everyone' need? I got so tired of that a$$hat Brit who came from the evil Pharmacy world giving us buzzwords and corporate nonsense.

I have never been impressed with the raises (does not keep up with inflation hovers around 2.3 to 2.6%) and bonus. So it sounds like it will be more of the same. This year, I expect mine to be quite low just due to my deteriorating relationship with my whiny B of a manager. His constant criticism of me is getting super annoying, and it has nothing to do with my performance ever. We just cannot communicate without him failing to even grasp simple concepts and I grow tired of repeating the same information. If however he rates me below a 4, I will begin immediate plans to exit, likely outside of the company.

Grades 27 on my team are getting minimal merits. From 1-2.5% and RRP is about 1,000-1,500 less than last year.

Every time I hear HR say "we have a rewarding results philosophy" I wonder how they can sleep at night.

Wasn’t the purpose of taking away the bravos so that that money pool could feed into the RRP? We meet and often times exceed MBOs but yet are having reductions? What effort should anyone put in to go above and beyond here? You get a gold star and voted for stupid programs to get a shout out for your name.

Yes dear leader BT or BTK whatever his name is confirmed bonuses would be impacted due to subpar internal performance. What about those record profits tho

I wonder how much the extra dei Holiday for everyone cost the company and cut pay in response - I give up a week or two every year in unused pto so it does me no good.

My comp planner was frightening today and made me sad to work for this company!

What's the merit baseline and RRP funding for grade 29? I do not have direct reports so cannot see anything.

It's time for a leadership change. EVERY YEAR they tell us how great we are and how great the company is doing and then give embarrasing raises and bonuses. They took Bravo away 2 years ago and said it would be made up in RRP and now RRP is as low as ever.

It's the same story, EVERY year. A bright picture is given to shareholders for the first 3 quarters. 4th quarter company has to "tighten up", employees given a grim picture, have low expectations. EVERY...SINGLE...YEAR.

That is not universally true. 30+ will he 0% company wide. And those ranges for merit that comp planner provides are bases on more than map rating.

Raise for meeting performance goals will be 0 to 1%, being above performance goal less than 2% and being a top performer... 2.5 to 4%

No merit for 30+. RRP funding is VERY low but varies by salary grade. Something 65% of target for lower grades and 55% of target for higher grades.

This was just mentioned on the all employee call as well by BT. He seemed to indicate that “lower” grade levels are still receiving some sort of increases/bonuses. Anyone with insight on what that grade level cutoff would be?

Apparently no merit increases for grades 30+

Hearing the same thing- as well as subpar raises. This was in C&S/M&R.
