Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Separation agreement???

Anyone get their separation agreement? I’m baffled by what exactly I’m signing on 1/26, as it reads that I may OR may not get severance calculated once signed?

Broadcom HR is no help with understand when and how severance is calculated. They also can’t tell me when I’ll be paid out my final bonus commission from Q3 sales incentives. I feel helpless

What specific clause are you referring to? I have read mine multiple times and see no such language….

"it reads that I may OR may not get severance calculated once signed"

My manager says that it is confusing to everyone. Very different than prior VMW layoffs.

It’s per VMW standard because that’s what was in the Operating Agreement. Layoffs for 12 months following the acquisition will follow the VMware standard where there is one. In the US is basically 2 months plus one week per year.

Not sure why severance is per VMware agreement. Some smart leaders got either retention cash bonus for their teams or transitional offers- few unlucky ones like me have only one week per year to take. This is not consistent by any means- most of favourite bosses and their team followers are milking money with this exit process for no better reason.

The severance amount is whatever they want it to be. Their policy is purposely vague.

And to this comment “ The severance amount is whatever they want it to be. Their policy is purposely vague.”

That is absolutely false, their HR posted the VMW severance policy on the integration portal for departing employees. It’s pretty clear and easy to understand.

Can you please point to the specific language that makes you think this?

Broadcom HR has no motivation to respond to VMW employees about to exit. The severance amount is whatever they want it to be. Their policy is purposely vague.

HT doesn't seem to care what soon-to-be ex-employees think about the exit experience.
