Hello anon,
Today we held a meeting to share changes we’re making across the Central Academic Support team. To provide greater flexibility and efficiency in how we allocate work, we have decided to increase cross training options and create pathways for roles to support learners across multiple areas. As a result, we need fewer team members to support students this year and your role at 2U will be terminated, effective Jan. 19, 2024. There is no expectation for you to complete any work between now and Jan. 19.
For those who were unable to attend the noon meeting, we are hosting two additional calls providing the same information:
Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time: https://liveclassroom.zoom.us/s/----------8
Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time: https://liveclassroom.zoom.us/s/----------5
As a part of this transition, 2U has prepared a severance agreement, pending your approval, which will provide you with a one time payment of five-hundred dollars ($500). You will receive your severance agreement by close of business on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. Please refer to your severance agreement for the timing required to review, seek legal counsel, and either accept or decline the agreement. Note: Your agreement cannot be signed prior to Jan. 20.
Please know that this decision is a reflection of our anticipated needs for the new year, not your contributions to 2U and its learners. Together we have impacted thousands of lives through relevant learning opportunities in high-demand skills. We’re continuing to evolve, and educators will continue to play a critical role in delivering outcomes for learners around the world. We hope we’re able to work together again in the future.
We understand you may have additional questions. Our goal is to ensure transparency and address any concerns you may have. If you would like to further discuss personal impacts to you, please reach out to instructionalhr_bootcamp@edx.org.
Thank you for everything you have done during your time at 2U to support learners on their educational journey.
Thank you,
2U HR
