'Your situation serves as a clear illustration that financial incentives often outweigh considerations of job satisfaction and position'...

YES... unfortunately banks, shops, colleges and doctors don't take job satisfaction as a valid method of payment these days especially during a period when cost of living is very high and job sector isn't good... Who would have guessed there is a real world out there...

Are you genuinely suggesting that BC is the sole provider of competitive salaries? Your situation serves as a clear illustration that financial incentives often outweigh considerations of job satisfaction and position.

I stand to make a heap of dough.
I ain't quitting though.
With mortgage, car loans, kids in college, health insurance if paying myself etc etc I'd blow through that cash in no time. And there's no guarantee of a job at the same salary or level. So with the loss of earnings post severance added to the drop in wages in the next salary, it makes no sense whatsoever to leave.

Grand if you're single and want to head off to Thailand for 6 months.

As a middle aged guy with a mortgage and dependants I am terrified. The revelry in the idea of getting laid off here really shocks me.

I doubt i will easily find another job and if i do it will be on much lower pay, I'll have to work harder and longer to prove myself to a new manager and team.

My benefits may not, and likely will not, be as good as I've hadn these past years.

Such a bleak outlook for some of us.

If you had 5+ years tenure you would be older, on higher salary, and perhaps apprehensive about being unemployed in one of the worst IT related job markets of recent history.

Ireland has a lot better deal than the UK. If I had 5years + tenure. I would 100% take the offer.

Sign the redundancy letter you mean? Even if I do get a full time offer or a transactional offer I'm still taking redundancy! F**k working weekends for a company that doesn't value there employees.

Be cautious about relying on this company. Despite their announcement of remote work options, there's a recent request from Cork Management for regular office attendance. Additionally, there's a potential for upcoming layoffs, and it's uncertain if the redundancy package in BC is comparable. Job security may be uncertain, even after receiving a welcome letter, as more customers are expected to leave, impacting GS volume. Persisting will prolong your suffering.
