Any update on this?

If you are in the company this week and work for Support/related orgs, you know what took place and can answer your own question.

@mnrk+1qCOpz9K You are talking out your a-s; Not all DC employees are contractors. I take it you have not seen a contract for outsource DCOPS support? Hundreds of dollars per hour +minimum hours per ticket.

I was just wondering when the onsite IT support personnel are already contractors, it definitely makes sense for Hock to outsource support. He will be savings a lot of dollars and does not need to have expensive in house support.

Team, I know the last few days has been a bit stressful for all of us after hearing this news. We need to understand that Support is always a cost to the company, which is not the way Hock operates. He believes in squeezing the products and getting the maximum return from them. Support does not sit anywhere in his strategy. Lets all be grateful, we had a free run so far in Broadcom and move on. I hope our manager organizes a team outing which may be one of the last.

How about engineers who are fully remote in Europe region? I joined couple of months back and my manager promised a long run in the company. I am worried

Something is happening for sure, I tried to get this up with my manager and he was just ignoring this and trying to divert the topic. Anyone else spoke to their managers?

Yes that is correct the same board spoke about support going to HCL. At that time, it was just CA products and when the options were explored, it was a very small business opportunity for HCL and not profitable. But now with both Vmware and Symantec joining , its a much bigger support system. This would be more profitable for both the vendor taking over and for Hock.

And this board talked about all support going to HCL some years back. Didn't happen.

It does look like something is happening, managers are also quite tensed these days

Its time to get out the old dusty, rusty resumes and start polishing it. Really scared if the skills do exist in today's world or not.

Every person in broadcom has an expiry date set by Hock. Lets be happy that at least he gave us a decent enough run and paid us heaps more than what we actually deserve.

It will initially with India support and then they will slowly extent it other regions. You cannot move the entire support in one go.

What exactly does this mean?

All of non-mainframe CA Software portfolio support is being outsourced? To where?

Are we talking all regions (NA, LA, EMEA, India) or just India support?

Please explain

Really hope and pray that Hock keeps us together for more time. Need more of our stocks to vest. But from what our manager said, it doesn't look very promising.

Its really surprising why Hock kept the support for so long. CA Products other than Mainframe are like stagnant water. If its not done now it will be too expensive for Hock in the near future. The market has moved years ahead, while CA products just remained where they are.

Suggestion from a Mainframe engineer, if you have a chance, move ASAP to any mainframe group and you will be safe

This was always meant to happen. Hock was never a fan of in-house support. Why is he going to pay so much for engineers, when the same work can be done much better when outsourced

The news is correct and just waiting for the deals to go through. So folks plan your team lunches, outings or any fun activities together before its all over
