Reduction in *staffing
Dang autocorrect
When throwing around %s be sure to pay attention to % reduction in salary spend vs reduction in actual numbers of people. One of the previous layoffs was a 20% reduction in spend and people were inaccurately (in the media, not just here) saying it was a 20% reduction in starting. The $ % being higher than the people % is a good thing - means that a portion of the “savings” comes from laying off some really high earners and saving more ICs.
Also- unless you truly have a list - which most do not have and will not ever have - don’t judge who has been laid off by whether they are still in slack or not. Some were laid off but asked to continue on for a bit to wrap things up. Many won’t be final until next week. Just a heads up so there is sensitivity - just bc someone is there tomorrow doesn’t mean they weren’t laid off - and they may need to be thoughtful about who they tell and when.
It was around 200
Nowhere near 500 or 20%
20 percent of what number?

Im hearing about 20 percent of the staff
If it was that high, wouldn't there be a WARN Notice?
