Are there more than one promotion cycle at Citi (other than the Jan one)? Is my manager lying when he is saying that if I missed the promotion this Jan I will have to wait until the next one? Because I can see people being promoted mid-year as well at Citi, unlike other banks...

correct 1 time promotion cycle which is now, every year. If you are on track you may get the extra duties starting now, but no title and sweet monetary benefits till next January. Hope this helps
