Lots of IT people cut in Columbus

Seems like a chill hire
That is an awful headline for AEP the same day as its big hire, especially given the strong pushback on rates throughout AEP’s service territory from the commissions.
Would hate to see this guy having to argue rate cases with this on his jacket.
Mid-term and next presidential election 362 million votes to 211,230 votes, we win, they lose. We know who is going to be paying higher taxes and no longer allowed to bribe politicians.
In 2024, Chief Executives make up about 0.058% of the US workforce. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that there were 211,230 Chief Executives employed in the US. This figure represents 0.058% of the total employed population, which was estimated to be around 362 million. Rule by the minority is un-American.
Another Berkshire crony...why doesnt Warren Buffett just buy us and call it a day sarcasm
Well, that's one way to focus on the customer...

Has anyone explored filling empty cubicles in Service Centers closer to RTO employees' residences instead of the drab tan tower of Columbus? This would be a more reasonable and equitable solution that would allow WFH employees to satisfy RTO without long commutes that negatively impact their quality of life and family time. A lack of innovation is a hallmark of stodgy, self-centered, self-serving mediocrity.
Bill bringing in all his Berkshire boys.
Just announced AEP Transmission President - Doug Cannon. Cannon was a part of Berkshire Hathaway Energy organization before his current role.
Cannon is currently the President and CEO of NV Energy. Bob Bradish is now the Chief Transmission Officer and will report to Cannon.
The Transmission Center of Excellence leadership will be announced at a later date.
I left a year ago and have not looked back besides being on this site now and again. Save up as much as you can to get you through lean times and you'll be fine. AEP is not the only company out there, you have options but it does take a while to find it, hence the lean times. It will be interesting to see what happened when I jump back on here in 3-4 months. GL to everyone.
Interesting about the VP of Audit getting the boot (theyre confirmed tk be former/inactive employee as of yeaterday). Also interesting that VP NERC compliance got demoted to another dept and replaced already. Seems like quite a few changes that you only find out about if you're familiar with the group (or you read about it on here)

"Waiting to see if a lot of people come back and then some get laid off."
That would be the ultimate Bill move. Mandate full RTO, force people to make huge changes to their lives, relocate closer to Columbus, sign expensive leases, and then lay them off a month later because you didn't get the amount of attrition you wanted.
Well if his plan is to get rid of people, it’s working, because we are hemorrhaging employees. But then having to hire new people to replace everyone leaving. And then having to train the new people. I don’t really know what the grand plan was. Maybe to have crabby, burnt out employees and low morale?
Waiting to see if a lot of people come back and then some get laid off.
Quite a few of us still aren't sure why he would obliterate hybrid unless it was to get more people to quit.
June 2 is getting too near! I hope it’s massive chaos and Bill brings back hybrid… I know it’s wishful thinking, but then again anything can happen.
Hopefully they sell or offer some sort of severance. I’d be ok if they fired me I just don’t want to quit if I don’t have something lined up. If I get fired at least would have unemployment.
If you are a consumer of electric provided by AEP, employee or not, you still have a right to complain to the state PUC about the cuts and the rate increases. Now, I might have the little misses send the letter but I would provide that view on the next public comments meeting.
So seems like a busy day in the ivory tower. The VP of Audits was let go. Not mentioning names so this doesn't get deleted.
Who is the genius, who slashed staffing at a time when severe storms are stronger and more frequent? Who suffers when there are fewer employees to respond to more frequent and larger outages? Who demands rate increases to increase revenue to trim more distribution right of ways and then cuts the distribution right of way trim budget to further enrich shareholders? Customers and employees have been sc--wed by a corporate executive thief and it is time for that thief to go to prison along with his backstabbing enablers.
So who's brave enough to email Bill and apply for his program and list your action you'd take as CEO as 1) restore hybrid
@23j9+1qB6FXi3 Bill and that witch who runs the dc office are behind the obnoxious pac mails. They don’t want to hear that people have bigger things to worry about, like gas and childcare since we’re coming back five days a week. They don’t care, they’re too busy comparing us to what other companies do and counting their money to care about the rest of us. Completely tone deaf

Come on Karl. There are not thousands of AEP people reading this. It is the % that counts here Karl. Your negative votes are just about as high as most other good post got + votes. That means, a pretty large % of the readers that take the time to read the comments and then vote, vote your comments as negative. That is largely a rejection of your general "themed" work on here Karl. We still love you and all, but maybe just read the comments and leave the revolutionary thoughts for another day.

The test of a man's character is to speak the truth and witness his reaction. Seventeen is a tiny number in a company that employees more than 15,000.
Now you all had better sign up! Bill needs a chorus behind him while he sings the praises of RTO. Think of all the good work you all will be able to do for Bill and AEP in the office that extra day over hybrid!
Hey wait, if you work 8s, that is two more days in the office. Lucky!
Immersion in lies and false promises.
Can’t wait to see that there was LITTLE interest in Bill’s CEO Immersion program
I would apply but I'm pretty sure it will require manager approval and my manager's main mission is to keep me down.
Everyone better apply to that CEO immersion program. The company spent the past year or so forcing out all the older experienced executives the company spent decades cultivating. This is obviously going to be one the ways to replenish the bench. If you are relatively young with aspirations, do it! I know I will.
Karl do you not get tired of all the down votes?
A nation's economy founded upon virtue-less globalist greed is doomed to fail. Let not we be its victims nor its enablers.
I believe the stock is down because Warren Buffett nuked the utility industry as an investment just a few days ago. It was fairly shocking to hear. Give it a quick Google.
Found this post on an old thread, hope it helps.
To all newbies here, this is not a company owned site and it is anonymous, but it’s also moderated. They have few basic rules, but if mods catch you breaking it, they nuke your post and sometimes ban your IP from posting any further (can try overriding it by using VPN).
Can check the full list of rules in the footer, it comes down to this:

- no asking for votes (of any kind - political, union, etc)
- no threats & violence, bullying, slandering

S&P is back up to January highs, market is rallying. Investors are probably liquidating their AEP stock so they can go to where the action is. There's no point keeping your money in a utility when there are gains happening elsewhere. AEP stock is basically like a savings account, we're just a holding company. You only really buy AEP stock as a shelter in the storm.
That's the problem I have with our ICP plan, it is heavily based on EPS like we are a tech company or something. Why should the ICP be unlocked by EPS, what possible influence does the average employee have on AEP stock performance, not to mention broader macroeconomic forces.
Why is our stock price dipping when the rest of the market is up (at least for today)
Tyranny scorned shall not prevail.
Reputation salvaging, I’d guess. Some things simply don’t change. You know, It’s sad that even this space isn’t exempt from their moderation and control.
Wow, who would be deleting comments? I don't know why that would be deleted?
Yup I'm one of those that's going in to RTO with a very thin chance. I already have a job lined up but if it's a sh-t show with office cubes being fought over, managers stressed, teams scrambling for spots, more phishing emails, another employee accident, another safety report or Bill and the Executives addressing new ways to grow with zero plans but a new rearrangement or severance package rumor... I am out!
…….uhhhh, are comments being deleted??
