Exactlt promoting from within is a lie for a long time at AEP. Developmmemt programs seem like a neopotism program. It is realky dad when you actuslly beleived in the company and found out it was all a lie. I applaud Bill if he is gettingvrid of old AEP croonies.
Bill would not be here if the company was being ran correctly. Karl would not have sinken his teeth in this company if it was being ran better. The culture at AEP was all a lie. The company should be broken up. Hopefully a cimpany thst truely cares for their customers and employees would take over.
Was our location always being tracked on our computers?
Noticed a new icon today and clicked on it and it's for location tracking.
@2m8b nothing new, Therace did it when she came into the company. Sanjay, Heather, Ann, Kim, they were all from her previous stints at other companies. Bill is doing the same thing. When he leaves, half of them will stay, the others will go back to some BH company or BH buys AEP and they all get a golden payday. If he didn't do it, that would have been a big surprise.
The Board is telling him AEP is poorly run, fix it. So he brings in his people. Until the Board and Bill leaves, nothing will change.
@2mby pick a long phrase like a song title, movie title, car name. Add some special characters and a year. Start with 1900 and work your way up.
I only change one or 2 characters every 3 months and been doing it for decades.
@2ma6 Sadly “Promoting from within” has never been real (unless you’re someone’s favorite). HR is not interested in true strategic development and multi level succession that actually lasts. You’re incredibly lucky if you get a manager that actually cares and creates a plan for you. Because I 100% guarantee you, no one else will. Case and point: how many “varieties” of corporate development programs have we had? Better yet, where did those ACTUALLY get you (if you participated)?? They’re just fancy acronyms at this point. I have no faith in what they’re churning out from the top.
@2mby Use KeePass, my nword.
Hope everyone is having fun with these 16+ character passwords. I hate logging in and out all the time. Then to change every 3 months is a bit much...
RIP "promoting from within." We must not have anybody that already works here worthy of any of these roles. Sad state of affairs.
Plant manager at Cook really does not have much experience. He failed the ops testing. No engineening degree, was moved around after failure upon failure. He came from money and that helped him compete in the egoism leadership.
@2m8b
Agreed. These are just cronies.
Our peers wouldn't have people leading the new nuclear entity with no nuclear training or experience.
Reckless.
Two executives announced today and both are from Berkshire. Does nobody else find that weird??? Is it possible to have a real opportunity to lead at AEP if you’re not from Berkshire? This is incredibly alarming. What has happened to this company?
He didn't have to say it that way. He could have highlighted parts of the scorecard where there were improvements, and kept quiet outside of that. We didn't have to be an ugly headline for weeks on end and anger everyone from the customers on up into the political sphere.
Isn't a BIG part of your job knowing WHEN and WHAT to say?!?!
You keep telling everyone to stay focused on the customer, but I just assumed that also meant not royally pssg them off.
Happy Labor Day to American workers, who are the creators of our nation's prosperity. The toiler class is the only majority in America and yet our elected politicians fail to represent our interests in favor of immensely wealthy political campaign contributors.
@2kkj perhaps the first energy layoffs are to get rid of the fat ahead of a merger (with aep even?). Look at the volume of ex aep leadership drones that have found their way to first energy.
@2kqm CEO’s have been having quite the year, huh? (Not to mention the response from the one at the US Open, yikes!)
Has anyone seen the US open. A famous player gives his hat to a young kid and the adult next to him takes it away. This is the leadership team at AEP. Self centered narcissm at its bests.
AEP corporate officers have become so unpopular with employees and customers they are desperately seeking a less conspicuous corporate headquarters. Perhaps, they should consider a underground bunker in the current economic climate. 1 Riverside Plaza has become the headstone to AEP's grave.
The corporate war on workers continues as First Energy is laying off more employees. Not much for American workers to celebrate on this Labor Day weekend. The toilers are sacrificed to satiate the greed of the corporate exploiters. A weak and corrupt government sacrifices it's citizens to appease the avarice of its self-appointed elites.
Labor Day is the day set aside to recognize all the mothers and fathers, who diligently toil to give their children a better life. Yet, corporate bully boys and corporate shareholders prosper while hard working and honest Americans grow old and tired witnessing their children struggle in a free market economy where they are not free to prosper by the sweat of their own brows.
IT IS TIME for the corporate bully boys to get their beat down. They have over played their hand for decades and it is time to call their bluff. They can claim they are unarmed victims but we all know immense wealth is the most dangerous we-pon of all.
Employees are not going to pay for corporates' bougie aspirations. Stealing from employees to feign or excessively amplify financial success is a loser's and failure's weak not woke strategy.
It is time to overmatch the arrogance and bellegrence of corporate bully boys and make them cower before their betters. We are Americans and we shall prevail againsedt all who seek to subjugate our right to a free market economy that includes wages. Wage suppression is the theft of the rewards of honest hard work. Corporate theft must not be rewarded by our representative government, our free market economy or our society! No king, no crowns, no corporate fiefdoms in our America!
No mention of Labor Day on the Corporate propaganda page, is an affront to every employee of AEP, who sweats and bleeds so shareholders can have a richer life. It is time for a company wide strike. DENY, DEFY, DEFUND.
@2kds We the people are the political parties human capital from which they derive their political campaign contributions by selling our collective representative authority, our constitutional and human rights and our tax revenue. Human trafficking is a heinous crime and it is time for the perpetrators to be harshly punished for their abominable sins against decent and respectable people.
@2kdf Imagine, if all the Americans reduced to chattel by the political factions/parties unleashed their rage and wrath upon the human rights traffickers, their financiers and their political influence peddlers, the American Revolution rebooted, tyranny shall not prevail.
@2kay Cheaters and manipulators hate it when another faction of cheaters and manipulators out perform them. It would be refreshing to work for Americans with morals and values rather than partisan hacks serving only themselves.
@2kd7 Yeah, I'm sure the mayor got on the phone and called every big company in Columbus and said "you better RTO or else you'll be sorry!" And the C-
Suite at AEP said "not today! We'll move to New Albany and show you that we want 3 days of work at home!"
If the theory was that Columbus exerted pressure on AEP leadership to force RTO, then could moving out of Columbus be a way for us to get hybrid back?
How do I become director?
I want the big bucks.
@2k8e Very well said. In my opinion, TR and her acolytes are the godform of what all the AOC and Bernie philosophy promoters on this board dream of. How was the utopia TR ushered into AEP? TR was a wet dream to your idealistic values.
@2k5h Therace used to use PIPS as a means to get rid of managers to open a spot for her cronies. Sanjay, Heather, Chris, Ann, and Kim all come to mind. They didn't deserve the positions, they just kissed her but from previous companies. Which is why I really hope TR gets a new gig somewhere else and all of her cronies follow her to lie to the next batch of people at the next company. At some point they'll stay out like musical chairs, I just hope it's not AEP. They are a cancer here.
Dont worry at AEP the least amount of work you perform yields higher returns from management. Never could understsnd why it works like that. Of course some management will not acknowledge the truth. I have seen people on PIPS get more career opurtunties than high performers. Dont understsnd it. Hopefully Carl will fix that.
@2jzc mine has, it's almost 10am and I just got done with my second cup of coffee and haven't done Jack this morning. Isn't it great 👍.
Company wants my but in a seat in a cube, well there are downsides to that.
Mine sure has.
Anyone else's productivity drop like a rock ever since RTO? It's so hard to focus while being surrounded by constant talking.
Sell off assetts and rent them back. Give profit of sales to wealthy shsreholders.
@2jq8 according to the county auditor, AEPSC owns 1RP, and has since 2023. Parent AEP owned it before that.

@2jp6 if I was a betting man, I would say New Albany. If they were to move, AEPSC would have to get out of the lease for 1RP. Years ago, I was told AEPSC cannot own any assets, as it is a service corporation. I'm not a 100% sure who actually owns 1RP. Maybe they can just walk away from it or at the very least, sell it
@2jg1 I’d like to know where they’ve been rumored to “relocate”? Many of the surrounding Columbus skyscrapers are equal age to 1RP. Other than building brand new, what are the options they are considering in this media report??
